Cooperation: UNICEF and Côte d'Ivoire launch the new cooperation framework 2021 - 2025

Mrs. Nialé KABA, Minister of Planning and Development proceeded this Thursday, June 10, 2021 to the official launch of the implementation of the Cooperation Program between Côte d'Ivoire and UNICEF (CPD 2021-2025), at the Maison de company, at Le Plateau, in the presence of Mr. Marc Vincent, Resident Representative of Unicef.
Adopted on February 12, 2021, this new cooperation program will guide the various interventions for the realization of the rights of children, adolescents and mothers in Côte d'Ivoire.
The priorities of this program are, among others, systematic vaccination, universal and equitable access to education, protection of children against violence and exploitation, birth registration, improvement of hygiene and access to water and sanitation infrastructure, improving access for vulnerable children and families to social protection programs.
During this ceremony, Minister Nialé KABA praised the commitment and support of the technical and financial partners from which Côte d'Ivoire has benefited in the context of the implementation of its development policy in favor of the improvement the living conditions of women, young people and children, not without noting the government's efforts which have made it possible to reduce the infant mortality rate to reasonable proportions due to the massive investments made in the health system and innovative solutions and efficient.
According to her, "the CPD2021-2025 intends to contribute to the creation of the conditions for equitable access of its targets to quality basic social services".
Also the Minister welcomed the strategies for changing the overall vision of the cooperation program with UNICEF which "will require the implementation of an indicative budget of 106 billion FCFA"
The resident representative of UNICEF, Mr. Marc Vincent, for his part, indicated that “the interventions that we have been able to implement together have contributed to the achievement of tangible results. »
“These results illustrate that Côte d'Ivoire is resolutely committed to the rights of children. But it must be recognized that at present children do not all have the same opportunities depending on where they were born, the environment in which they live and the environment in which they grow up. ", he added.
