Financing of the PND 2021-2025: Nialé KABA solicits Japanese investors
Abidjan, Saturday March 26, 2022 - The Minister of Planning and Development, Nialé KABA has invited investors and the Japanese government to take part in the financing of the PND 2021-2025. This, on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting held by videoconference, on March 26 and 27, 2022, in which she participates.
Côte d'Ivoire is actively preparing for the mobilization of financial resources as part of the financing of the PND 2021-2025, during the next Advisory Group to be held in our country in June. The Minister of Planning and Development, aware of the importance of this step, is in perpetual action. This Saturday, March 26, 2022, she invited the Japanese government and investors to take part in the PND2021-2025 financing, "I therefore invite the government and all Japanese investors to participate in the advisory group for the financing of the PND 2021-2025 which will be held on June 14 and 15, 2022 in Abidjan, in parallel with the Africa CEO Forum,” she said. She made this call during preparations for the eighth edition of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 8) scheduled for August 27 and 28 in Tunisia.
The meeting, under the theme “Development priorities in post-Covid Africa”, recorded the participation of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of African countries and representatives of the organizing parties, namely Japan, the UN, the World Bank and the UNDP.
She praised the dynamic cooperation between Côte d'Ivoire and Japan, "which has enabled sustained support in terms of human capital development, agricultural and rural development, and the development of economic and social infrastructure", before to indicate that the agreements signed during TICAD 7 are being finalized. She cited in particular “the installation of a Toyota vehicle assembly plant in Abidjan; the rehabilitation of the CHU of Cocody; the development of infrastructure, in particular the construction of the Ivorian-Japanese friendship interchange, the second phase of which has been launched; cooperation between the city of Yokohama and the district of Abidjan and the development of human capital through training”.
Recall that, according to the Minister of Planning and Development, the PND 2021-2025 projects an average growth rate of 7.65%, and is based on significant socio-economic investments at a total cost of 59,000 billion FCFA ( 110 billion USD) including 43,646.4 billion FCFA (81.4 billion USD), i.e. 74% expected from the private sector.
